how should I cycle the heat and uv lamps on and off for my tortoise table?
i.e. leave them on all the time, only on in daylight hours etc...

Heat on all the time, but with a drop in temperature overnight. Light on a timer, 12 hours on, 12 hours off - use a proper timer, makes things so much easier when it goes on and off automatically.
