My other half has,but not many neighbours have sheds or garages round here.Im really worried as it is so cold too.
thanks
I know it's worrying but it's not been long yet if I've read your post right that he didn't come back this morning as he usually would?).

It could be he's injured himself slightly as cats have a tendancy to go off and heal themselves.

Also possible he's stuck somewhere, one of my mum's cats went missing for days and turned out here was stuck up someone's tree!

Could he have got scared by something, especially with it being Hallowe'en with fireworks or similar and has gone to hide and maybe got shut in somewhere?

There was a similar question in the Pets section the other day and they found theirs safe and sound.

Mystic - my boy cat does this to me. He used to have a very clear routine and then all of a sudden, he started clearing off for days - every time he does this I worry and end up walking the streets searching for him. IF he has come to harm, he will generally make it home (ASBO has made it come almost blind and with a 4 inch gash on his side). In fact when I was on holiday, the cat sitter phoned me to say he had not been home for 5 days and should she worry (I nearly drove all the way back from Oban for him). Generally he comes back fine though.

Sometimes they just do this though. My female who you could set your watch by cleared off a few years ago. She was gone for 4 days and I was frantic with worry.

I suspect he has gone out, there have been some fireworks, he's got a bit scared and hidden up somewhere. I normally find a good time to find them is in the early hours of the morning when it is quiet - I have often walked the streets at 3 or 4 o clock. I would be inclined to go for a walk in the early hours and particularly target shrub land or trees. Bet he'll have hidden somewhere until all the noise stops.

Hope he is OK.

I agree with what the others have said here. He's not been gone that long and i am sure he will turn up safe, weel and hungry!

Im feeling even more reassured now thanks,Barmaid,ASBO is a great name by the way, sounds like he suits it !
Im gonna go walk about with my OH early tomorrow morning,do you think it would be best if we bring our 2 dogs along or go alone?
Thanks
Try not to worry. Cats are hardy creatures. Ours has gone missing several times and has always come back home again. The worst time was when he was missing for 10 days. He had been acidentally shut in a cupboard in a neighbour's house. They eventually opened the cupboard and out he strolled. They gave him some tuna fish and some water and phoned me full of apologies. I went to collect him and he was a bit thin, but otherwise perfectly OK. His coat was in immaculate condition , as presumably he had had nothing to do for 10 days except preen himself.
On the practical side, phone your vet, they will usually have a 'lost pet' book so that if someone finds him and asks them, they can pass on the information to you. Is there an RSPCA near you ? If so it's worth phoning them. I asked my postman to look out for him too. If you have photos of him, print them off and stick 'cat missing' posters to lampposts giving your phone number so that if anyone sees a cat they may contact you to let you know where to look.
Try to keep cheerful, he will probably turn up soon and you will never know where he has been or why he went away.

Hi, yes i agree with the rest of the response you have received. Unfortunately cats are very independant creatures who often taken it upon themselves to go exploring! i would leave it another day then maybe call your local cat rescue centre; it maybe possible that someone has handed him in. One of mine decided to investigate a carpet fitters van whilst the hatch was open! Luckily we just happened to look out the window when i saw him disappear amongst the carpets.
I'm sure he will come home. i once had a lot of involvement with a cat rescue & there were quite a few happy cases where cats had gone missing & eventually turned up. Usually with the cats wondering what all the fuss was about!!!
Good luck with Luger & i'm sure he will return.
Just seeing if there's any news.

I found some links for you if you wanted to ring around just in case.

Cats Protection League (also has Cat Chat where you can find all local rescues).

Try putting up posters in the local area, phone RSPCA in your area and ask them to keep a look out for you. There isn't really much you can do after this but wait. I hope you find him! :)
Is he home yet?
Any news of Luger. I hope so.

No news of Luger yet,its breaking my heart,I fear the worst.Ive done loads of print outs and posted through letterboxes on estate, put a picture and ad in local shop. Will put one in Asda tomorrow when it opens
Tomorrow will phone the local vets and rescue centres etc,its killing me not knowing, especially as the weather is so cold
Hi Mystic,
How old is Luger? Is he a strong, healthy cat, if he is I wouldn't worry too much about the cold. He would look for shelter. Tonight will be the 4th night, so hopefully he'll be back soon. My Felix is a terror for wandering off, the longest he's stayed out is a week, and then just strolled in, cheeky as ever, as if to say what on earth were you worrying about, I can look after myself. Has Luger ever gone off before? Hope you find him soon, I'll be thinking of you.
