Finding a kitten.. where to start

Hi

Have been thinking about maybe next Summer getting 2 kittens to keep our Harvey Pickle Pants company (since he lost his brother). How do I go about it? We really really want long haired moggy's as Harvey is part persian and so has beautiful long fur.
Can any one give me any tips?

try your local rescue centre or ads paige in local rag

I would definitely go to a rescue centre,they are crying out for homes for unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens.

Rescue centres rarely have long haired kittens needing homes. If you want a particular breed, go to the Feline Advisory Bureau website where there will be a list of breeds/clubs/breeders you can check out. If you are not bothered about having a particular breed try Cats Protection and put your name down for any long hairs they might get in as you are not in a hurry.

Oh I have been looking on the internet at some cat sites now.. and think I want a Maine **** or a Ragdoll. there are soooo many out there for homing!!! Bless.. Going to have to be patient and wait until next year!

I dont recommend you add TWO kittens with your existing cat....they wont blend happily. Get one instead.

I just phoned up my local Cats Protection League and asked if there were any kttens for rehoming. The lady asked for any requirements (sex, age, how many etc) and then put me in contact with a local lady that fosters cats and kittens for then. They did a house check and 1 week later we had our kitten.
