We have just lost our 7yr old Saff-Bag, and his brother Harvey Pickle Pants is obviously feeling a bit glum as they were ever so close. Thing is - I think Harvey is going to get lonely at home on his own all day while we r at work - as he is the type of cat that likes company. I make a right old fuss of when I get home and we play together (he likes to run around the garden.. and I have to chase him! very embarrassing!). When will I know if its the right time to introduce one or maybe even two more kittens and would one be better than two or two better than one.
I have had to do this before - when I got Saff and Harvey we had an old cantakerous male cat - who just adored the kittens once they knew he was the Boss - but I just dont know when or if I should do it again or not.... Cant bear to think of my poor pickle pants all lonely at home!

Anyone there? Can anyone help?
Hi Nosha, I'm not an expert but expect its like starting a family, there is never a perfect time.
As you are at work could you time it for when you are around more to smooth the process as they might instantly get on like a house on fire?
not get on. sorry
firstly can i pass on my condolences to you on loosing saff-bag, secondly can i say how much i love the name;;harvey pickle pants. if you do think of getting a kitten introduce them gradually, keep the kitten in a cat carrier and let harvey sniff the kitten thru the bars, do this a few times when you can assess the situation, and if theres not too much hissing and spitting maybe you could get kit out of cage but hold the kit and let harvey give kit a good look over, over time you could leave them together and hopefully they will become firm friends, introduce them slowly though harvey might surprise you and take to the kitten straight away as hes used to as you say having a furry friend for company. i wish you luck if you do get another kitten, keep us informed.xxx
