After losing our little Alfie rabbit a few weeks ago, we decided to adopt a rescue rabbit to keep our lady Petal company. We have adopted a lovely doe, Hazel, who has recently been neutered by the RSPCA and she is now at home with us. The rabbits are in separate hutches for now and today I put them in the run which was divided by a mesh barrier. Seeing as they seemed ok with each others presence, I took the barrier out and they just couldnt stop humping each other!!! Petal is also neutered. We separated them again and they are still living in their own hutches.
Have I introduced them too soon - we only got Hazel on Friday - and will they settle down eventually? I was told by the RSPCA that 2 neutered does would get on ok.

You need to keep the mesh barrier for about 2 weeks if they are out seeing each other most days. I had the same problem but they just have to get used to one another and make sure your original rabbit doesn't feel neglected.
