Hi my friends gorgeous long haired ginger tom has developed a couple of lumps round about his back passage. They are solid and feel hot. He can sit down ok and my friend asked me to have a feel we thought they might be matted hair but they ain;t i've tried to feel them, He doesn't like people trying to touch them to get a proper look and they seem be painfull to the touch. Can cats get piles? or are they something more sinister. He is 7.

Thanks in advance x

I don't have a clue what they might be I'm afraid but please get your friend to take the cat to the vet. Anything abnormal like that should be checked out straight away.
I wouldn't like something 50 times my size trying to fiddle around with, and examine my ringpiece either, and I'm not a cat.
Tell your friends to take him to the vet, and
you do not touch!!
