Many thanks to all of you who were so very supportive when I posted a few weeks ago. Mr Thugulike and I now have a gorgeous new puppy. He is an 11 week old apricot english mastiff and his name is Fearnought Handsome George. We picked him up yesterday and he has settled in well and slept right through without any puddles this morning. We have an open house this weekend if any of you would like to see him.

So glad you have found a new baby to love. Does he have Fearnought the Barbarian in his pedigree - he is a magnificent dog and Glyn always did well showing him.
Are you going to show?
Question Author
Lankeela I think Glynn said Beefy is his grandfather. Hardly had time to read the pedigree stuff yet. We have no plans to show him at present. We did have a very beautiful Rotie which we took to a few shows where he did very well but he caught kennel cough at the last one and I was so disgusted that someone could take a dog who was clearly coughing to a dog show that I refused to go again. Today George got up at 4.30 so I took him outside, he did both and returned to bed. He's played nearly all day except for 2 hours when he slept. His favourite toys are a CD which hangs from a plum tree (to deter the bullfinches from pecking off the buds) and an empty half coconut shell. He is coming when I call his name and give him a command and generally showing great promise. But above all he is warm and cuddly. As soon as he has his last injection he is going to puppy training as I couldn't have a dog this big who was badly trained and ill mannered. I'm taking Mr thugulike too!
