Hi, i've just started gardening, so this might not be a good question, but here goes anyway.

I've got a problem with RED ANTS, i think i've got an infestation. When i'm digging there are thousands of them with there eggs.

Is there anything i can use to get rid of them or are they good for the garden (as i've said, i've just started out)

I'll also add, i've got young children and cats.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

There are various methods you could use, but the most effecient is boiling water, not nice, but you'll be ant free.

thanks for the answer, but what i forgot to mention was the red ants are in the soil itself, everywhere i dig ,theres hundreds of them with eggs.

I have them in my garden too and I was told to leave them alone out there. Apparently if you try to get rid of them they may move.........and they may move into your house!!!!! Don't know if this is true but I decided not to find out!
