Very interesting artical Iankeela!
I wouldn't recommend anyone getting their dogs vaccinated using a homeopathic vaccine.

Whether they work or not, the fact is that there is absolutely no regulation for homeopathic medicines. Conventional drugs are all tested and licensed, and have schemes set up to monitor adverse reactions and cases in which the drugs do not work, and all such drugs are controlled by the Veterinary Medicines Directive.

Homeopathic medicines are not controlled in this way, so there is no way to determine whether they are safe and absolutely no reporting or recording of instances where they have caused an adverse reaction.

Regulation and safety aside, there is absolutely no proof that they work, and I know of many cases in which dogs vaccinated against parvovirus, using a homeopathic vaccine, died several months later with parvovirus infection.

In addition, homeopathy qualifications are not recognised by the organisation controlling UK vets (the RCVS) and as such anyone who feels like it can give these medicines, without having to know anything about them.
I agree with Noweia again here.

Interestly recentlyI had a lady who insisted that she had used homeopathic vaccine on all her dogs and none of them "ever got ill". Out of interest I myself paid for a series of antibody tests to be performed (via a blood test) from her 8yr dog who had never been vaccinated and..... surprise surprise... there were insuffficient antibodies present to adequately protect the dog in the event of infection.

The phrase - "I never vaccinated and my dog has never been sick" is something I hear all too often. You never know what is just around the corner...
Vaccine does not always work 100%. There are still cases of Parvo that are not stopped by vaccine, there are some strains of Parvo that are not covered by the normal vaccine. I have known dogs that died from parvo even though they were vaccinated.

Just because your dog is vaccinated annually does not mean it is 100% guaranteed not to get any of the diseases. Leptro only lasts about 8 months, Parvo can be effective for 3 years.

Also the manufacturers themselves say you are not supposed to vaccinate a dog who is ill, or who's immune system is compromised in any way.

I know of fully qualified vets who only practice homeopathy and have totally rejected conventional medicine, there are also a number of vets who combine the two.

It is illegal in this country for anyone other than a qualified vet to treat an animal.

I would advise people if they are not going to get the normal vaccinations done (for whatever reason) then the homeopathic is probably better than nothing!
