I'm moving house soon and my partner and i would love a cocker spaniel puppy. I live in Cumbria and supplies are limited!! What or who is the best site or person to contact about this. I don't really want to travel the length of the country but would be happy to travel a couple of hours (get out of the wilderness).

Ooh, thanks princessfifi!

I'm moving in with my partner soon, squirtle, and we're buying a 2nd Brindle Boxer puppy. WOOHOO! :o)

Champagne good luck with ur move and your puppy!

Please stop.... do not use sites such as the one mentioned.... they are places for bad breeders, puppy farms etc to move dogs.

If you knew what I know about them you would never go near one. Please, please, please..... look for breed rescues, dogs trust etc... there are thousands of unwanted dogs out there....

www.dogpages.co.uk

go here, take advice and if you want independant opinions, ask about epetz etc on there....

Please tell us what u know binky bingo?

Try www.champdogs.co.uk

Go to guided search, click on the group you want and there will be lists of breeders with their areas.

These are mostly KC registered dogs from responsible breeders, but you need to check out carefully any puppies. Don't buy from a breeder who has lots of different breeds, puppy farmers rarely stick to one or two breeds.

Other than that go to the Kennel Club site and check out the breed clubs, the secretaries will give you a list of breeders who are club members and have to abide by their rules and code of ethics.

Thanks for everyones advice, i hate the thought of puppy farms. If i had the money I'd rescue them all. I have looked at epupz and some of the sellers warn about puppy farms and not to encourage them and i totally agree. I will be having a look at the other recommended sites too. Good luck with the move Champagne, and with the new arrival.
champdogs is an excellent site. that'swhere I'll be giong when the time comes
Hi, we have just been to a lovely caring breeder in Norfolk, puppy brought up in home, I found her on site, www.pets4homes.co.uk. Back to get our baby cocker spaniel, in 2 weeks. They go very quickly but you can make a really informed choice of the breeder on this site. I was on it daily!
