Just wondered whether anyone knows if this would be suitable for a 6 month old retriever. Currently feeding him Royal Canin Junior, but I am led to believe that Skinners is very similar but a lot cheaper!!

I tried my dogs on this awful food, we had alot of digestive problems as well as dull coat,
It was adult though not puppy food, you cant go wrong with burns dog food if you are looking for a different brand,
Please don't go for the cheapest. Go for better quality food. You know it makes sense.
Burns is not cheap tilly, its a good dog food, skinners is crappy
Chick, my response was to Mr H. Sorry about the confusion.
I'd keep him on the RC until he is an adult then try something a bit cheaper if you need to. You can't put back later what you don't put into him now.
Arden Grange is a decent price/quality match - and also about the only thing that keeps my collie Gizmo's digestive system on the straight & narrow.

Thanks for that folks. We have actually gone for RC Golden Retriever puppy (up to 15 months) food. He loved the RC Puppy food, but I found this ‘breed specific’ at Petsapply on Amazon for £33.00 for 12 kg. He certainly liked the ‘ordinary’ RC Puppy food, let’s hope he likes the new stuff!!
