Sandy |I| always heard it as every dog resembles its owner !
Er my daughter has an Akita Sandy..........

If that's the case sandy
I'd be a Big Softie!
Why are the dogs getting partial blame for this from you Sandy? They did nowt wrong!
not the dog's fault but the story would be more surprising if he was walking a yorkie
Errr why?
Question Author
Maybe because some breeds attract a certain type of owner.
I'm not blaming the dogs. I did say, 'maybe I'm maligning the Akitas...'
Big, thug type men tend not to own/walk little yappy type dogs B00, with the exception of JRTs sometimes. Most would hate to be seen in public with a Yorkie or Pomeranian.
I get the analogy, I just dont think its fair to say that the moron had the characteristic of a particular breed of dog.
Oi, my family have had lovely Akita's for years.

I can't find where it mentions why he got duffed up, maybe he deserved it. Akita's being what they are they must be very well behaved as whilst the owner was pasting the poor chap, they would have seized the opportunity to attack the other dog.
I thought akitas were classed as 'dangerous dogs' and had to be muzzled and on a lead at all times outside, am I wrong ?
No Anne, well not in England anyway.

What's that ^^^^ got to do with anything?

The Dogs didn't do it anne, they are innocent,
the owner needs a muzzle!
i can;t see why the dogs have anything to do with it.

there is a guy on the cancel who walk the cutest mini yorkie, he doesn't seem bothered by the size and cuteness of the thing

The question might have been better if it had read like this: Do Pooches eventually take on some of the characteristics of their owners?
Then they'd be very dangerous dogs.
But Sandy, if he was walking two Labradoodles would you have asked the same question?
Question Author
Drug dealers on some inner city estates use dogs as weapons. You somehow can't imagine they'd threaten to set their Labradoodle on you if you didn't pay your drug debts. Bad owners have given some breeds of dog a bad name.
The man in the news item was a thug and he had dogs that have become associated, rightly or wrongly, with thuggery.
Still not seeing it Sandy, sorry :)
I like big dogs and have never met a nasty one. JRs and Yorkies scare me a bit - yet to meet a nice one of either breed.
