Binaural beats as what we know are auditory artifacts that have a direct effect on a person’s brainwaves. How can they improve our ways of thinking?

Many things can improve our ways of thinking: studying, reading, yoga, listening to relaxing music, incense burning, w@nking, smoking pot, meditation - the list is endless.
I often wonder if there is a certain 'acceptance through the mystery of ignorance' aspect to the notion that things like this can 'improve' us.
AFAIC "binaural beats" is a twist on a process that has always been around, someone diddled around with it, shoved a fancy label on it and hey presto it became "a thing".
May I ask you a question: why do you want to improve your way of thinking and in what way ?
