There is an advert currently on TV which shows a thin scrawny man in a=n open top car sand along side of him is a blow up doll of the man.

Who is this man, I suspect he is an ageing rock artist but I am not sure,

Does anyone know who he is please?

There is also another advert, I think it is some financial one, at the end of the advert they say "now bring on the sax or something similar, what is the piece of music they play?

Thanks so much Mark, although I have never heard of Iggy Pop, at least I can now gain brownie points with my family, because not one of them knew who he was either.

Baker Street by Gerry Rafferty, ah! yes now I remember that haunting music.

Thanks once again.
Iggy is an iconic figure in American punk / glam - famous for his noizenik band The Stooges. He is still, as Jonathon Ross so memorably said - relentlessly pioneering that topless look. Iggy is on a par with Keef Riffhard - he really should not be alive bearing in mind the internal and external punishment his body has taken over the years.

A class act.
And him appearing in the Swift cover ads is rather strange as they don't insure entertainers.
I believe they do now - after the rumpus caused by Ig's appearence and lack of a policy - mind you, given his lifestyle, the premiums are probably eight figures!
