39A is Equitorial guinea
46a is (Phileas) Fogg
39a - equatorial guinea.
46a - Fogg.
53a - Hampton Court.
60a - Lippi.
67 - animus.
68a - Winter Wonderland.
72a - tight.
74a - boeuf bourguignon.
75a - minyan.
Why is it that others can do this crossword with only asking for a few answers and you need to be given 21 (or more) ?
49a - lebkuchen.
70a - evora
My thoughts entirely, Catron.
49a Lebkuchen
70a Evora
49A may be lebkuchen

70a Evora
I totally agree with Catron and BigDave44. These answers are for a 500 prize crossword, and if DrPanguitch is too ignorant to know the answers or too stupid and/or lazy to be able to find out, then he/she most certainly does not deserve to win the money.

And people like Baitress, Lie-in KIng and Sarumite (to name but a few), who weigh in with the answers at the drop of a hat to try to demonstrate their supposed cleverness, are merely egotists with nothing better to do. They do no service to anyone, as their activities increase the number of people submitting correctly completed crosswords and dilute the chances of any one person winning

My wife and I do this crossword every Saturday, together with the Sunday one in 'Seven' and the Herculis on Monday, and those answers which we don't know we manage to find out quite quickly using various sources of reference, both printed and online, which hones our research skills. If we can do it, why can't others?

Since I registered here nearly 2 years ago I have asked only one question, and I deeply resent the ability of this website to help the undeserving win prizes. If I had my way I would have this section of Answerbank closed down in the interests of intelligent people.

Failing that, the showoffs who provide the answers to prize crosswords might like to consider what they are doing.
Well said Brewmaster. If you can,t google Malabo to find answer then there is no hope!

Well, do you think you deserve to win when you have not tried very hard, honestly? Where is the satisfaction on being given 21 answers?
My goodness!

Some people are so up themselves today. I

It's supposed to be the season of goodwill.

Never mind.
And now you give yourself three stars - amazing arrogance.
I think baitress has a valid point, tho' I had to stand aside as the toys came showering out!

My New Year's resolution will be to confine any assistance I'm able to give to one answer at a time.

But to wrap up the site? How would aspiring cruciverbalists ever learn?

Happy Christmas, Aq.
Sorry, baitress, I meant Brewmaster of course
