I threw mine out as it went rusty. I threw the one before that one out too, as it also went rusty.

But in a few days' time I will receive, through the post, a brand new wok. Yay!!!!!!!!!

Just had a thought ..... When I said I'm gonna receive it through the post, I didn't mean the postie will slot it through the letterbox ..... It'd have to be a pancake pan to enable him to do that.
I do use one but if i want a stir fry i usually get my son's GF to make it cos she is more inventive than me, and yes they do get rusty quickly
Mrs C - metal ones will rust unless they are coated or stainless steel... I used to have a cast iron one and it would rust if put away slightly damp, so I learned soon on to make sure it was totally dry when it went back into the wok drawer. Another way to keep them happy is to lightly oil them and then just place some kitchen paper on top. The new one I have now is one of them thar newfangled non-stick coated ones - flat bottomed but I still prefer to use the old fashioned cast iron one.... (cos I've got to be careful with the non-stick surface)

Ah, well ... This one I've bought is an expensive one, and I'm hoping it'll stay rust-free.

Christine, did you chuck your rusty wok out too?

I am well familiar with rusty-wok syndrome-lol

Now I have a mini-wok-for -one.....and it is non-stick.
yes vi did mrs.c....how you getting on with Skype?
I cant seem to log out...I have people trying to chat all the time....HELP
Your wok has to be oiled.

They're not washed in liquid suds in the far east, only dipped in hot water, wipe off with paper and in continual use - so rarely oil free.

Hey Juggs, thanks for that. I've just bought one of those non-stick ones. Haven't received it yet though.

Knobbs, you're a sparky then? Don't know why, but I had you down as a builder!
Someone had to tell me that there was a symbol or something for logging out at the top of the panel.........haven't been on in a week or so...so can't remember where it was now...!!!

Christine, if you right-click the Skype symbol at the bottom of your screen (looks like a tick with a green background) then click on Quit, you will log out lass.
