why is abc1 not available anymore? where have the programmes gone to?

It was announced that on 7 September 2007, ABC1 will cease broadcasting on all UK TV platforms, due to a failure of agreement for increasing its broadcasting hours on Freeview. ABC1 closed down on all UK TV platforms at midday, September 26, 2007 even though it was scheduled to cease transmition on October 1, 2007.

I did wonder where the channel went, i spent awhile lastnight lookin for the channel thinking mayb its been moved, no wounder i couldnt find it if no longer exists

Oh bums! I didn't know this was going to happen! I can always find something to watch on ABC1 when theirs naff all else on the other channels :o(

I take it this Virgin1 channel is suppose to be taking the place of Sky1?

What's to miss? The same 3 programmes on an endless loop.

It was my escapism..it was there for a little light relief and not to watch all day.

Some re-runs I liked ~ and it was great if you missed something earlier in the day.

If they find a channel to run Home Improvement, Less Than Perfect, 8 Simple Rules, Rodney etc I will be happy.
