I believe in the early 90's there was an ad for Carling where there were slave type people pushing a ball up a hill, at the end I seem to remember the ball breaking through a TV screen. Does anyone know who performed the soundtrack?

I think the ad was for McEwan's lager - I remember the music but get it mixed up with the tag line which was Alive and Kicking ie. the Simple Minds track - it was very definitely something with a rocky/electronic feel - I can recommend you check http://www.commercialbreaksandbeats.co.uk/ they seem to have thousands of ad/music connections.
Definitley McEwans Lager. Absolutely no idea who wrote the song though!!! Loved the tune at the time as well, but do not remember ever finding out where the feck you could get a hold of a copy. I wish you luck
