does anyone know the music thats on the recent little itv segments(not too sure what you would call them) before shows and adverts, they have just random people doing everyday things and they're quite short but i'm pretty sure the tune is from a song?

Not sure I've seen them but they're called idents, which might help if you're googling it.

Yes, as NJOK says, they are idents ( short for Station or Channel Identity ).
I would have thought the tune ( sort of "Nee Nar, Nee Nar" ) was specially written, but I don't know for sure.
