What's up with Channel Four all of a sudden?! On 7th July, in a break during Blithe Spirit (Seven Days to Noon having been cancelled), at 2.45 in the afternoon, there came an advert about treatment for erection problems! Both me and my mum were understandably confused... I know we live in an age where we can talk openly and maturely about such things, but imagine if you had a young child watching the film and you had to explain?

If that wasn't enough, I spotted the ad again, on Channel Four, yesterday - in a brak during the second half of the 100 Greatest Family Films!!

I guess it might be a technical hitch unless someone at channel 4 is trying to get fired. It could always be that because the advert has no graphic depictions and mentions the topic in such a "surgical" way that it is allowed on TV. Maybe showing the ad on late nights wasn't working for the company?
It's also to do with health conditions...so quite important.
I suspect the target demographic for such things is middle age people, just the sort of people who would be watching Blithe Spirit.
As far as i know not many young children are fans of 1940's Noel Coward/ David Lean comedy/drama/ fantasy films.
Besides, do you have a problem with Tampax or Femfresh adverts or for toilet paper or nappies for that matter?
It would be a very curious and worringly intelligent child who would wonder about erection problems anyway.
