I purchased second hand coat, with washable fleece material from ebay. It's arrived but stinks of cigarette smoke. I love the coat. It's currently in the washing machine. I'm worried the smell won't come out after drying.  If not what can I do?

Hopefully the wash will have got it out.

Something like Febreze or Fabuloso clothes spray and hang it out on the line.

Put white vinegar in the washing machine drawer instead of fabric softener. It should help remove the smell. I promise you won't smell like chips!

Fresh air should do it eventually after washing.

Smurfchops - I've replied about Efudix.  :)

Wash it a second time.

Soak it overnight  in a solution of  one cup of bicarbonate of soda, to 5 litres of warm water.   Then rewash with bio detergent and  fabric conditioner  that pretty much strips any smells from fabric.... Apart from fox wee...nothing shifts that
