Toothpaste

I was wondering if sales of toothpaste have declined since the popularity of Oral B type brushes (other small round heads are available I guess) we use that type and certainly dont put as much on as we did with a conventional brush

Someone told me 67% of UK adults now use an electric toothbrush. 

I think I use about the same amount of toothpaste as with a manual brush - pea-sized.

Possibly. Most of us were brought up with the toothpaste ads showing a strip of the product all along the brush, and assumed that was necessary. But advice that it wasn't has been around for years now.

I've always used a manual toothbrush, and have always used a tiny amount of toothpaste!

Back in my teenage years, I asked my dentist about which type of toothpaste she actually used herself. 

Her reply was "I don't.  You don't need toothpaste at all.  I simply use a toothbrush with dampened bristles".

You wont get the strengthening benefit of fluoride like that !
