The Indian girl who went missing in Oxford Streetfor found 10 days later in Perthshire.

Apparently she made her own way there.

Has this been reported here, or have I missed it?

It was mentioned on here. Someone said that as it was her last day before returning back to India then it could have been pre-planned.
A bit of good news for a change.
Seems strange that none of our newspapers have reported on it, but thank goodness she has been found safe and well, thanks for finding this out Gromit.

AOG posted a question 10 days ago hoping that she would be found safe and well.

It is odd that nothing has appeared in our media. It is reported in the Indian press.

She has wasted a lot of police time and our money.

/// Found safe and well AOG thats novel I would have thought you were of the opinion that her plot to stay here would have been thwarted. ///

Never even entered my head, but seeing that it did yours, says more about you than it does of me.

// What did the family have planned, asylum? //

Don't think so. The father is a wealthy man and they have a good life in India. I don't think the parents were in on any plan and they did believe that she was genuinely missing. The girl may have had other reasons for wanting to stay, as discussed on AOGs original thread.
It was reported by STV on Thursday that she she had been found

I know that I have no evidence to support my hypothesis but the words Forced + Marriage spring to mind.

at what age are you old enough not to have the police reporting your whereabouts to your family?
I thought it was 16 but assume it's different for foreigners that 'appear' to have gone missing.
I thought so too, ummmm, though I could be wrong. But if she's a non-resident, I expect the usual laws don't apply.

Perhaps she hoped to make her home in newly indpendent Scotland and shoot grouse.

There is nothing on the STV News website

http://news.stv.tv/

The search 10 days ago featured prominently in all the national press. Yet the story she has been found doesn't get one line in any of them. Odd.
Perhaps Alex Salmond has put a block on news getting out of Scotland.
aog - that would explain why the newsagent didn't deliver my Perthshire Advertiser on Friday. No Scottish news stories to be reported to those out-with Scotland.
Glad to hear she is safe and seemingly well. Does seem slightly odd that the mainstream press have not offered a follow up story on the original news of her disappearance....
