Buying a used car, or any vehicle for that matter without test driving it is taking a long shot. I don't have much trust in eBay sellers. Not saying all are dishonest, but, you know...
LOL - brilliant - love it.
(I bought my car from Gumtree btw)
Looks as if the bodywork is well and truly past it's best to me!

Tut tut - did I really type But? Obviously meant "Buy"
Roy Brooks, a London estate agent in the '60s, made a successful career out of being rude about the properties he had and, usually, about the people he was selling them for. He'd say something like "Bijou house, second bedroom for midget, offered by fading arty couple with pretensions to better". This made him rich.

So, yes I would, prompted by curiosity.
I don't think it's funny. Are some people really so clueless to bid that amount on a dilapidated piece of junk?
It may not be "clueless" Soc, they may well be bidding for what has become a famous classic now that it has had so much media attention.
Are these bids confirmed and genuine ? (I don't understand the system). The car may be worth £3,000 on a good day but saleable at £2,000.
AP, if that the case then I think they are stupid. Thank goodness no AbswerBankers are bidding, they are too smart for that :)
Ooh! Who's bidding from here!! ( ;-) )

I don't want the AB sisters to come down on me like a ton of bricks but can I gently suggest that this lady is doing her car no favours whatsoever by lying on the bonnet...after all, its hardly a tank is it ?

LOL @ Mikey!!
Are you suggesting that she might have something sharp in her clothing that might scratch the paintwork Mikey?!
me thinks the winner of the auction will try and get out of paying! no one in their right mind would pay so much for that car! you could buy a brand new one !!
Those old E class Mercs are rust buckets.
