You dont bother to tell us what software you are using so I will assume they are both Windows computers.

You cant transfer programs, you have to reinstall them from new using the CD/DVD you got with the original software, or the files you downloaded from the web.

Your personal files (photos, music, office files etc) can be transferred a number of ways. If both the PCs are linked to the same router you can set up sharing between them and just copy files across from one computer to the other.

Or if they are not connected then copy files files onto something like a CD/DVD, or memory stick or external hard drive, then move that device to the new computer and copy files files off the device on to the new computer.

That is programs and files covered, but you mention "data", what do you mean by that (where is your data)?

Note Microsoft do provide an "Easy Transfer" program for most versions of Windows, so that may help. Here is the one for Windows 7

If you are moving from XP to Win 7, the best way to transfer all your stuff is to use Microsoft Easy transfer (either via removable storage or via a ntework connection).

As VHG says, you can't transfer your programs, you will need to install them from the disks or downloaded installers.
