Morning All,

Hope everyone is having a good day. I'm just going to leave this here...

Just reporting does not remove or suspend users or posts.

All reporting does is alerts The Editors

Reports are not seen by User Moderators

There is no "10 reports = suspended" system AT ALL.

THERE IS A WEEKEND EDITOR. He is human.

THERE IS A EVENING EDITOR. He is human.

There are USER MODERATORS. They have the power to suspend & ban users.

Suspensions are for an ARBITARY amount of time. Editor's decide this.

Bannings are permanent.

If you think we've been unfair at any point ask yourself the following questions about the situation: "Does it involve my mate?" & "Does it involve me?" - If you answer yes to either of these you may be suffering from a social illness known as "bias"

We DO NOT tell everyone why they are banned, suspended etc, it is not a constructive use of our time.

vibra, the only thing big about those guys on SAB (well most of them anyway) are their knuckles from the constant grazing on the ground with them.

Really don't think Ed & Co has owt to worry about from that set of puddings do they?
vibra's only saying that because he's now no longer a member... bloody hypocrite ;-p
I wouldn't want to be a mod. I don't think I can go into dark places like Insurance or Sport to check for unusual activity.
no longer a member? Of SAB? My god, after seeing the tripe that's posted on there, what on earth do you have to do to get banned from the place? Decapitate puppies??
He resigned BOO...

Hi Boo- I pop up on SAB from time to time. Wonder if I'm considered to be a pudding? But I love puddings, so I don't mind.
Me too....am I a pudding?

I consider myself to be a voice of reason...or something.......
say ho ho ho and you could be the voice of season

How do we pick Mods?

We just pick nice people who seem fair, don't get silly and don't break the rules. They're also ones who generally take us to task over certain issues (usually politely by email mind). We're very grateful to all of them.

All the best

Spare Ed
If oyu notice, when i said puddings I said most of 'em, and when I look on SAB, which is admitedly once every few weeks or so, the vast majority of posts are by two of them- do i consider those two puddings? Oh you bet your boots i do!

Steve5, it's actually called editorial control, and it's what editors do. Try writing in to the Times and telling the editor he's a prat, and see if your letter gets published. Why would AB be any different? If you want a say over what goes on a website, why not start one yourself?
Are members on here that are found to be members on SAB banned from here? For the simple fact that they are members over there?
No, hogbody, they are not.
Of course not, glyph.
The fact that SAB is full of users banned from here is co-incidental.
Users banned here are banned here...........that they congregate over there and then attempt to sneak back in here provides hours of fun for all.
No, and anyone that has been a member here since before AB and SAB split into two separate sites will automatically be able to log into SAB with their normal username and the password they had at the time of the two sites splitting.
oh lord, can they really, Chuck? That means I am still a member of SAB?

Where did I put the Dettol?
