At the age of 74, I have just started to participate with answerbank. One thing I would like to say, I wished there was a spell check, as I lost a lot of schooling during the second world war, because my mother was hard of hearing, I had to stop at home in the mornings to tell her when the air raid warnings started, when we had to run to our garden shelter. I now look forward to reading what people write about, and the avenues that it goes down, some of the answers completely go away from the original question. Sorry to go on about my war years. Hope that it never happens again.

Crankshaft...welcome to AB.

I was 74, ....once.....LOL

Welcom indeed Crankshaft.

You will find the AB is a microcosm of the world we live in - sensible, empathetic, touching, amusing, irritating, obscene, nasty, pointless, but rarely dull.

Hope you stay with us and enjoy joining in.

Hello crankshaft. it's good that you are not afraid to join in.

Hiya Crankshank

Welcome to Answer Bank. Don't apologise for mentioning your war experiences, helluva time to live through and I for one find stories about them fascinating :-)

Oh and don't worry about your spelling either, as long as you don't use that horrible text lingo, you'll be fine.

Boo :-)
craft, lol ;o)

I don't Zacs..........but I don't know what a crankshaft is....
Hello Crank :-)

Craft...my spell checker on firefox isn't working. The box is ticked but it doesn't highlight it :-(
Hello to you crank!
how nice to meet a proper gent! :0) Please 'do' go on about your war years, I love to hear all those experiences! In fact, I bought a book recently " Our Hidden lives " by Simon Garfield, the everyday diaries of a forgotten Britain 1945 - 1948. A mass observation project recording the everyday lives of ordinary people. Andy is quite right, nothing more to say really about this site, when it gets a little heated on here, stick to the day when it's relatively peaceful!
I can't get the spell checker to work anymore :o(
Hey SQAD, no you never mentioned it,
what did you do,? tow a destroyer back home, doing the breaststroke, WOW,
