So what do we all make of this? (Probably a good idea to read the article which goes some way to clarifying the legal obligations of bus drivers).

TFL should have worked harder with Chris Stapleton, he isn't unknown to them - as long as the guidelines are blurred this will go on. https://inews.co.uk/essentials/news/uk/travelling-disabled-person-i-argue-right-use-wheelchair-space-bus/

If only we had a link Zacs !
My elderly uncle got a tirade of abuse from the bus driver in Belfast because he boarded for 3 stops only. He was 82.
Oh dear....some re-training needed it would seem.
The mistake she made was to raise her voice, she should have responded quietly and asked other passengers to move as per the guidance then reported back to the passenger.

Her comment re 'We didn't put you in there etc' was out of order.
Sometimes people muck up. Can anyone say they have never lost their temper? Certainly a bad thing but maybe the driver had other problems. No excuse, but let's not be too quick to cast the first stone.
the driver has quite a lot of problems, one of them being perhaps that she's in the wrong job.
Scoops....I am not sure that we are mis-judging the affair.

We only have what appeared on the video footage to judge the women by, and on the evidence of that, she behaved badly.

Mamya, the guidelines apparently say ‘they should take steps beyond just a simple request‘

What ‘steps’ they are is unclear.
The driver needs to resit "How to speak to human beings - 101".
If the 'steps' in the guidelines are unclear, quite how the drivers and the passengers are meant to interpret them is a mystery.

Staying cool is hard but is what she should have done.

I would imagine a course would have been attended. But I’m speculating, of course.
I doubt that having a mobile phone camera shoved in her face helped matters either.

No, it’s almost as if the man were trying to make a point.
If his point was making the bus driver look like a prat, he seems to have been highly successful.

I was being ironic Mikey.
A cynical viewer of the video might comment that nobody forced her to be black but we have to treat her properly because of the law.

Makes as much sense as her 'nobody put you there' comment.
I do wonder if the wheel chair user has edited this video for his own benefit ?
I didn't detect any edits, anne, no apparent cuts.
