Do you think BT could help?
Question Author
I can't bear to contact them again, Baldric. It's a nightmare.
Was it Paul in Banalore, Yilly.
Looks like your going to have phone them again.
Tilly, did you call BT and speak to a technician or did someone claiming to be from BT call you?

Understood, we've been with them for years, only had to hand over control once, and came away from it with a much improved service, so no critisism.
Question Author
I contacted them. Captain. It was Garandeep. He helped with a problem we had but since then, things have been very strange.
Question Author
Thank goodness for that Tilly. The other way round is a well known scam.
Ah right, thanks - didn't see that post.
This reminds me of a call I got a couple of weeks ago. The guy claimed to be from Talk Talk (had my name, address, account # and everything – evidently Talk Talk weren’t entirely truthful about their recent hack) and wanted me to go to the URL he was about to give. Cynical as I am was suspicious and told him where to go. I then called Talk Talk; in the course of that conversation I learned something that seems so obvious but I just hadn’t considered it, and I’m guessing it applies to all the providers:
You will NEVER receive a technical call unless you have arranged it beforehand. If it comes out of the blue it’s a scammer.
What Web Browser are you using and what is your version of Windows?
Question Author
Chrome and Windows 7, Pinky.
>>> Everything is printed down the page in blue writing

Is that only in your browser (i.e. when you're viewing web pages) or is there also a problem when viewing your desktop or other programs?

Assuming that it's only a browser problem, which browser are you using? (Internet Explorer? Edge? Firefox? Chrome? Safari? Opera? Something else?)
Question Author
I contacted BT and I allowed the technician to access my computer with Go To Assist. but since then I have have had some strange things happening.
Windows had to configure, the computer wouldn't start properly and now my YouTube has gone weird!
Question Author
Chrome, Chris.
Crossed posts!

Sorry!

1. Click Menu (Three horizontal lines, top right) > More Tools > Extensions.
Note down the names of any extensions that you've got (and wish to retain) because you're about to remove them!

2. Then click Menu again, followed by Settings > Show Advanced Settings > Reset Settings > Reset

3. Close and restart Chrome.

4. Reinstall any extensions you want back.
Question Author
Chris, I have done all that but when I clicked to reset it went wrong and wouldn't go any further. I had an AWsnap message and waited and waited for it to return. I killed it eventually. Should I try again ?
Question Author
Aw, now you have deserted me in my hour of need.

Sometimes, I hate this site!
Sounds like your browser is not loading the pages correctly - as if its using an out of date browser.

If you have another browser eg, Firfox try the same page in it and see if it loads right.
Question Author
Yotube is fine on IE, Tuvok. I have tried it. How do I get Chrome back to normal, though?
