On two occasions my answerbank page has suddenly gone to a pornographic site. This is when I have been using my wife's iPad.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Serious question so please no wise cracks!

have you put an antivirus software onto your ipad?
Yes gavmacp. It's happened to me on a number of occasions. I often get other pages come up as well but this one, or one very similar to yours probably, appears just as often.
The as-block doesn't touch them and only appears to stop pop-up ads. included as part of a page.
Any good?

My friend set up my Internet etc we have antivirus and firewall(whatever that is). Never had any problems until last 24 hours.

Yes, I've got them a couple of times as well. Local slappers was one.
That happened to me on my iPad a couple of weeks ago.
Sounds like you have malware to me. Run a malware search to get rid on it.
We're not sure how this happened to the both of you to be honest.

It is likely that you've clicked an ad by mistake - but we certainly don't have that kind of advert on AB!
annemollie, "local slappers" might just be a tasteless, crap "dating" ad (which shouldn't be on here anyway) - Gav and Evian are talking about something a bit harder.
Ed
All I can say is that if I met these women in the street, I wouldn't recognise them!
I'd guesses that was probably it Ed so ignored it. It's only happened once.
Okay, here's a few questions for anyone who has experienced any of this:

1. When you say the screen is "taken over" do you mean that:
a) the webpage stayed the same, and it filled with images (or there was an overlay)
b) the webpage changed to a different page showing pornography
c)after clicking a fresh webpage/tab opened and this secondary tab was opened.

2.Can you remember where you tapped on the screen? What area was it? What were you trying to do at the time?

3.Was it definitely on a question view? Or could it have been on a category view?
It's happened to a couple of iPad users Evian, so we're just trying to work out if there is a rogue ad in there somewhere.
Ed
My rather limited experience was when I tapped on the right of the screen to open a post. I suppose it was in the 'overlay' category - the ad filled about half the screen. Is that any help?
Afraid I can't remember the answer to any of your questions. All I know is I was on AB and was suddenly faced with porn but can't even remember if it popped up on a new page or redirected the one I was looking at.

If it happens again I'll try and remember.
I had the local slappers one too, about a fortnight ago. I also use an iPad. I emailed the ed and he asked me to send a screenshot if it happened again.
At least they're local? Doubt they're free range or organic though...

Anyway, we're having a stab at removing one of the advertisers we think could be responsible.

Fingers cross for any changes!
I got the Local Slappers one too. You might not class it as porn Ed, but women with their legs wide open to camera is called porn in my book! I can tell you where I was on AB when it happened: I had just put Times Crossword into the red search box at the top so it must have been in one of the adverts that appears before ABers answers. I was using my ipad too so could be relevant. I hope you manage to get it sorted.
