People keep making references to 'owls' in various threads.

I am a long way from being 'down with the kids' so can someone enlighten me about this please?

They are cute furry animals and they live on a diet of small rodents.
I am probably wrong andy, but I take it they mean trolls.
One of the trolls came on with an elaborate story about owls. I must admit that it's getting tedious now.
Yes ummmm, that story was a real 'owler.
In reference to a few wind up threads regarding owls.
There have been at least a couple of fairy stories from people about owls. One was about a man who had been put in prison (or secure hospital unit) and saw an owl outside the window looking at him and this turned his life around, after he had buried the owl. Now he had won the lottery and wanted to donate a million pounds to start an owl sanctuary. Another story was about 12 multi coloured owls in a tree near a house that flew at the window at 3 am every morning. So whenever you spot a potential fairy story, someone will mention owls.
Why is it tedious ummmm? What sort of posting would you prefer?
It seems a little like everyone wants to be the first to spot and 'owl' which gets a bit dull. That's what the Ed is for.
Mostly they have been amusing in a mad sort of way...and it's easy enough to ignore them
One was about a flock of owls attacking a window at night another was about a chap that was saved by an owl and wanted to donate a million pounds to a sanctuary, there may have been more.
When it comes to funny stories I think I prefered the story about hiring a tube train for a party to celebrate Fatima's pregnancy.
The constant reference to owls is tedious, Cupid.

They could be genuine users, someone mentions owls and everyone starts viewing them like they're trolls. Not good if they are genuine.
There is an inner child in all of us [some more than others]. I like a laugh.
What's wrong with that?
But it's just the same over and over again Cupid and some of these questions may be serious, like Ummmm says.

Plus, it generates the 'what's an owl' Q.
I'm not talking about the threads that are started. Some are funny. I'm talking about people posting 'owl' in a thread that could be genuine.
Perhaps the word owls should be added to the swear filter.
I agree with you ummmm. I had a hard time when I first started on here. Everybody seems suspicious when your new. I'd never deliberately hurt anyone but admit to getting carried away at times.
D97 - but what if someone had a genuine query concerning owls? It could happen.
We all get carried away at times :-)
