I'd have put it in a box and in the bin. Poor little thing, do you know who's kitten it was? Might be worth telling your neighbours in case they're out looking for it.
It sprung back into life?
I wouldn't have left it, I'd have taken it with me to find help.

Was a way just at most one minute was not going to risk lifting it because it could have slashed a Vein or I could have done it more damage .
What happened then??
Sorry weecalf, I still wouldn't have left it. What DID happen next ??
goodlife appeared, kissed it, blessed Jehovah and it sprang back to life? Or was that Venator?

I'd take it to a local vet, the kitten could be chipped or being looked for.

How small a kitten was it? Old enough to be out on it's own and did it have a collar on and look like it was a family pet, rather than a stray?

I was hugely grateful in the past on two occasions when my cats got knocked down, one lady came looking for the owner, found me and brought her back to me, the other was taken to a vet, who phoned me after scanning for the microchip. Incredibly sad both times but I was so grateful to know and make arrangements myself. I'd have been frantic not knowing.
Glad you found time to crack a "joke" while on the phone, good job it wasn't a serious matter
