Although I have a bit of gardening experience under my belt- I know virtually nothing about fruit trees. The tree in question is just in its second season. The end tips of all branches are exuding what appears to be a sticky resin which has soaked and curled the end leaves.....I really don't know what to do with it. There was some small cherries a few weeks ago- but nothing to talk of.
Would appreciate your help. Sorry I can't be specific with the name other than it seems to be from a dwarf variety.

It sounds to me like your cherry may be suffering from an attack by aphids and possibly a virus disease that they may carry.

I've noticed quite a lot of aphids in my garden this year, on sunflower, maple and budlea, to name a few!
The way I deal with it, is sraying with a strong jet of water to blast them away.
It took 3 or 4 attempts to rid them from the budlea but it seems to have done the trick, as it's now flowering well.

Thanks Chipchopper, - come to think of it, last season I remember spraying with Jeyes fluid.....I will attend to that ASAP!
I've not heard of spraying fruit trees with Jeyes Fluid before Matheous .
I just use a strong jet of water from the hosepipe, that seems to work well for me.

Erm, no Jeyes fluid left-so I tried some Flash liquid.....Hope that doesn't harm the tree!?
I suspect that will harm you'r tree.

I will go with water in future....Thanks
