There is an interesting discussion on Noah's Ark in today Guardian. As an educated person and a rationalist, I can't see how the Ark could possibly have been big enough to get one animal of each species on board, let alone two. Presumably dionsaurs would also have been included.

Are there any Christian ABer's, preferably British ones, not Americans, that can help explain it please ? No cut and pasting from the Bible please...just facts will do !

There must be a God if an old curmudgeon like you, mike, got 15 birthday cards. ;)
Where does the 'God only flooded Noah's world' come from? I must have been asleep when I was in school.

I always knew the Ark was a fable because how could my ancestors possibly have hopped to overseas?
When you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
It's impossible to flood the entire world, there isn't enough water, so, improbable as it might seem to some, only Noah's world was flooded.
dinosaurs were long gone.
True. They missed the boat.
didn't have tickets perhaps... could have been called ryanark
I somehow can't visualise O'Leary as a patriARK
Now that I think about it, if we can have PC World and Carpet World then why not Noah's world?
Well rotted manure, £1.00 a bag.
I like this illustration of how much water there is on the planet ...

It doesn't look like very much.
Maybe not Jayne, but you wouldn't want to have to mop it up. :)
How did all the animals fit on the ark ?
Easy - this guy has the explanation:
Chonosuke Okamura (look him up in Wiki)
I think my explanation, that all the animals were never actually on an Ark, seems much more logical.
sandy //I think my explanation, that all the animals were never actually on an Ark, seems much more logical. //
But sandy we are not talking about logic, we are talking about the bible .
Sandy //I think my explanation, that all the animals were never actually on an Ark, seems much more logical.//

I agree with you Sandy, and the reason? well the Ark never actually existed except in the minds of a very few feeble minds.

These guys are still having trouble with the idea

Desert animals are donkey camel dog cat goat, easy to fit in ark
modeller //Each animal requires many times its body weight in food and water over a period of a year, but just as important what goes in must also come out.//

Indeed . There were not enough humans on board to distribute the food to such numbers of animals let alone shovel out the sh1t.
If all animals on the planet had descended from a single pair just six thousand years ago we would see very little diversity in their genomes. Once again, observation debunks the religious dogma.
