My Smokie Joe is gone ..

Dont know what to do with myself right now. He was fine in the bedroom this morning as he usually is, let him out and ten minutes later looked in the garden and he was collapsed on his side with his teeth showing. We rushed him straight to the vets but by the time she got to him his heart had stopped. She said he had a completely full bladder which looks like it then caused his kidneys to fail. Not long back from the vets with an empty cat box. Lots of tears from me and my fiancé, feel lost.
Last night he was in the garden looking like he was trying to go for a wee but was sat there a while so I said I would keep an eye on him and take him to the vets. He was fine in himself, had breakfast and some water this morning, as affectionate and loving as always, he didn't let us know at all.

So sorry to hear this. It seems like every time I log on this week, there is another sad loss of a wonderful pet. It is such a shock when the loss is so sudden and not expected. My thoughts are with you.

I know Cefa is going to suffer. She went straight out into the garden when we got back from the vets and was sniffing where we found him. Had them at the cattery last year and when we picked them up they said they had never seen one cat so dependant on another as Cefa was on Smokie. Cried my way round town this afternoon, so much for a distraction.

so sorry wiggal, this pain is just awful :-( you feel like you are missing a part of yourself and there's nothing you can do. i never saw my husband cry til he brought back an empty cat box. just look after yourselves x
