My Smokie Joe is gone ..

Dont know what to do with myself right now. He was fine in the bedroom this morning as he usually is, let him out and ten minutes later looked in the garden and he was collapsed on his side with his teeth showing. We rushed him straight to the vets but by the time she got to him his heart had stopped. She said he had a completely full bladder which looks like it then caused his kidneys to fail. Not long back from the vets with an empty cat box. Lots of tears from me and my fiancé, feel lost.
Last night he was in the garden looking like he was trying to go for a wee but was sat there a while so I said I would keep an eye on him and take him to the vets. He was fine in himself, had breakfast and some water this morning, as affectionate and loving as always, he didn't let us know at all.

I almost lost him once before, when I left my ex he took most of my cats to be rehomed but Smokie seemed to know and his for the day. My ex said he was going to take him to the vets and say he found him and leave him with them. My now fiancé said no change and we will take him in (we also have one other of my cats from then) and so he came to live in the tiny one bed flat with us and Cefa! So I got an extra 2 and half years with him.

After losing Sandy yesterday, I can say I know exactly how you feel. It'll take a while to realise he's gone, but then the happy memories will prevail. I'm relying on that to keep going.

Awww! wigg, what a sad story. It happened to us too a few years back, I came down in the morning to find our Ginn dead on the hearth rug, she was old tho 21.

I'm so sorry. I had to have my cat put to sleep on Monday, and I still expect to see her every time I come home, but as Anniebar say the shock of it happening like this gives you no time to prepare which makes it all the worse. My sympathies are with you.

I am sorry to hear about Smokie's sudden death. It must be one hell of a shock to you. It sounds like it all happened really quickly and that he was healthy and happy until near the end of his life - what more could a pussy cat ask for?
