I did a stupid thing on Wednesday night.

I went onto an online boomaker's site and struck three bets to a total of �1000. Unfortunately they all lost. My wife knows that I bet but thinks that I only bet small. My wages went into the bank today and after the �1000 has been deducted, I have only �800 left. this will not be enough to cover my monthly bills. I know that I have been stupid but how do I tell my wife where the money has gone?
