can anyone answer this question "under the new driver act if you have totted up over 6 points in the first 2 years of gaining your license you have your license revoked automatically but the Act says that you can apply to have a provisional license and retake all tests again. but it does not make clear whether you can apply straight away after it was revoked, or have to wait. and its not clear when it says that a license can only be revoke once does that mean a ban in the future? I know that you get a ban if you tot up 12 points. anyone got some answers please
A 'revocation' is not the same as a ban. As long as a driver is not also banned at the same time as his/her licence is revoked (which would only happen for a particularly serious motoring offence, such as drink-driving), he/she is free to apply immediately for a new provisional licence. As soon as he/she has received that licence, he/she can apply for a driving test.
I know of someone who got six points on his licence within the first few weeks (never mind 2 years) of taking his test,he reapplied to take his test and now has his licence back, all within about 6 months.
