I'm tempted to buy petunias plug plants from daily mail. But, I don't have a greenhouse. Is it too risky to plant them out before hardening. My fucshia go through winter with muslin covering. Advice please.

I have just bought plug plants from the Daily Mail. They are healthy little plants but very small and I don't think they would survive outside at the moment. I have planted them in egg box type planters and put them in the spare bedroom for a few weeks.
I'm wondering if a 'cold frame' might be an option for you ?
