Just had a schizo neighbor threaten to kill me....
Loads of cops about at the mo.
Actually feel for the bloke, cant imagine what hell he must be living?
Nothing altruistic about this post, just cant imagine living with an illness like that!
I was totally prepared to defend myself (and able) if needs be, but can not understand why people like this constantly slip through the system?
He was obviously having an 'episode'.

You're right, it must be hell and help is not always available - very sad.
I bet that shook you up, Nailit? Very scary and sad for all.
Care in the community..
poor you
poor guy - pesumably is not taking his stuff because he felt so well

remember they DO actually do all this ( schizophrenic patients kill people they know)
oh
care in the community is....
lack of care in the community
Poor soul.
Possibly trusted to take own meds, feeling better so stopped?
System is broken and underfunded.
nailit unfortunately mental health is far from a front leading slogan for this or any government to invest in, but needs money to prevent crimes like this. IMO.

Physically, no, not really patsy.
He's only a young lad and I know that I can take care of myself if needs be.
More shook up that people are left in this state in the first place.
Ended up with several police vans/cars and numerous officers in his flat for what is essentially a psychological episode.

Yep, thats about it PP.
nailit must have been shocking for you but at least you walked away relatively unscathed.

Tony, at least im still here lol.
A bit unnerving but more concerned about the poor bloke. He was crying as he'd lost a friend today but then he turned a bit ugly.
It was one of my neighbors who actually rang the police.
Just understand why so many police had to attend if Im honest. Loads of vans + the usual cars.
Question Author
just *dont* understand !!!
Numbers of police on scene will quickly deescalate any violence being used, and can get person back to station with minimum of force / injuries.
Question Author
Yes, I suppose so Tone. Did seem a bit excessive tho for what it was. Could have restrained him myself if needs be. Don't know why there needed to be so many police.
Well, you should be pleased that they turned up, Nails.
You are, as we know, one of the 'good guys', nailit. Sounds like a very bad situation. Hard to cope with - but you did.

So much wrong with delays and systems that it is hard to know where to start..
Not the same subj., but allied. Last year I complained to my surgery that recalls and assessments for various conditions each required a different date for attendance. Eg. my asthma yearly check is one date and my eye problems are another date. HOORAY! This afternoon I heard that the system is being altered so that one person will get one assessment for all. This sort of tightening-up needs to be applied everywhere - then perhaps those needing more follow-ups might stand out. Just a thought - but it might help.
Possibly depends on what the neighbour told them?
I've heard some people seem to gain almost super-human strength, so safety in numbers?

Hope the guy will get the help he desperately needs and keeps on getting the help.
The person taking the call doesn't know the full story, no one does until they arrive on scene.
When "shout" goes out Police on the ground don't know mental state, or any arms carried by reported person.
It is very sad that people are like that, there is no proper care for them.

I am glad you are alright Nailit
Glad you are unscathed.
(Hope the cops don't come for me cos you know my brain is deficient :-(
