Legitimate E-book Sites,or Not??

Would I be taking a chance downloading from these sites...are they illegal if offering current books for free?

They are illegal.

If you want current free ebooks, download them from your public library website.

The libraries in Devon and Cornwall don't seem to do ebooks.... :-(

I found gutenberg early on-have already downloaded a few.
amazon have a free ebook section on their website as do ibooks. I get the amazon freebook daily email and have had a few gems from there too.
