Do religious people....

have a problem with reasoning?
I have a few folk that I'm in contact with (of the religious persuasion) and it seems that any mention of a reasoned discussion is out of the equation. Bring reason into the disscusion and it always turned out that 'God' knows best.
I'm very interested in the spiritual/religious side of life but we have to be reasonable as well surely?

Sith, you often claim that some of the atheists try to make you look stupid, so you can either pretend not to understand Dave's philosphical point and appear to be stupid, or you can admit that you understand his point and rebutt it(which I doubt you or anyone else can)
talking about the tooth fairy and santa clause is suppose to be philosophical? anyway there is a big difference between santa and god. for starters your parents tell you that santa does not exist. you do not believe in santa through faith. you believe in him through a need. it is all about faith. you all talk about rationallity, but religion is about both, faith and rationallity.
Sith, thankyou. :-)
your welcome.
;o)
Anlyn, //religion is about both, faith and rationallity. //

If that's what you're winking at, it's a well-placed wink. ;o)
see naomi, thats all you can do, critisize but you never give any straight answers. go on, explain
Sith, //you never give any straight answers.//

My answers are straight - which is why you don't like them.
no, i dont like your answers as whenever you do say something good, you always go and spoil it by trying to act funny and make fun out of others. and trust me, youre not funny.
Well, that's me told then. ;o)
yeah, no hard feelings.
Not at all Sith. You've told me good and proper! ;o)
Sith, sometimes people use humour to make a point that made any other way might be construed as an insult.
ok
