I was bemoaning a certain Asian government. My friend replied that the UK government also blocks sites for they don't want to the populace to find out the truth.
'Such as?' I asked.
"www.infowars.net and www.prisonplanet.com," he replied.

What does everyone else thing? Are, as the X-files-cliche goes, we being watched or worse, manupulated and controlled?

I get www.infowars.net and www.prisonplanet.com

Don't you?
Yep, I get both of them as well.

There are sites that do get blocked by the government - kiddie porn for one thing.
Just had a look at www.infowars.net the first thing that jumped out was a headline 'everything you've ever done on your pc can be traced ' - that sounds interesting I thought - turns out to be an advert .
Anarchy in the UK !
Both infowars and prisonplanet seem to belong to the same person, 'Alex Jones' (or perhaps Mary or Violet Nichols if you do a whois search), and to me seem to be niche marketing of products and services draped around some re-hached american news items with a conspiracy twist.
All web and telephone activity is monitored whether we like it or not, but governments find most of us very boring and could not care less what we access. Child molesters and terrorists attract UK govt's attention.

they also take a small portion of the normal boring people to anaylise also, just to make sure the masses are remaining 'normal and boring' and are not a threat, getting ideas above their station, or are planning to repel the corn laws.
Loads of links on Google offering different ways of gaining access to officially blocked websites.
Who cares??

I asked my friend and he says that theses websites are blocked on the 3G network in London.
It's true...Alex Jones made a contest to spread this information as far as possible.

I sugesst you get a better ISP then if they are blocking sites without your consent.
