Just wondering if anyone else is attempting this quiz? I think I have over 30 answers, which I am happy to share if anyone needs help. Stumped on the feather, big pink knickers, red kite, black tower, bbc microphone (thought The King's Speech but mic probably too modern), milk bottle, carrier bag, two stetsons.
Many thanks

I'm sure the eye you can see through the kiosk window is from Avatar... Think I've got 37 now but still stuck on moon, stone calving and pier fairground!!! I've also spend hours on this now, so frustrating but still great fun.

I think there is a few ? on some of the answers on above list.

What is the horn on the book?
My ? are the ones I’m unsure of... probably spotted some that aren’t even there too and I stand to be corrected on any others if you’ve any better ideas or question marks of your own? Or are you not willing to share?

If you check back on this thread the book is apparently Harry Potter, Chamber of secrets. I’d have never have got that! I was thinking ‘horny book’ and my mind was going elsewhere...
The 'horn' on the book is the basilisk tooth that was used to destroy the diary in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
On the above list there are a few question marks still!
Red shoes can be Wiz of Oz.

I actually count more than 40 potential movies. Problem is we are seeing things we shouldn't.

The moon could be new moon (Like the option) or even Apollo 13

Tom Jones ???
As I said, my question marks are the ambiguous ones requiring clarification if anyone knows better? There was a film called Britannic, about Titanics sister ship but I don’t know if the setter/artist is being sneaky or if they had different flags? Thought the Titanic was the white star? :-S

Red shoes can be a lot of things, I’ll stick with the film ‘The red shoes’ though.

The sweaty taff singer took his name from the classic film, Tom Jones? Why is that confusing?

Why don’t you put your list up?
We have most Films as listed by yourself and others

My listing as follow
Star wars
ET
The Queen
Forest Gump
Priscilla queen of the desert

Thanks to the Blog:
Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets
Tom Jones (not to sure)
Hi all, thanks for the help ...can i as jon why 'Mona Lisa' and Freddie why The Da Vinci code? And why Priscilla rather than Stricly Ballroom - does the glitter ball feature strongly in Priscilla? I honestly can't remember it in Strictly ...Oh and the death star first appears in Star Wars ( or now, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope)

some further points. I think it is the film Tom Jones - but i suddenly realized it could be Mars Attacks where Tom appears in his Las Vegas act - not white haired but about that age ...Also 'The Red Shoes' bothers me - since the red shoes are ballet shoes; but on the other hand the Wizard of Oz red shoes are glittery red -rhinestones or something. then again a clockwork orange is visual clue and doesn't appear in the movie ...i'm still leaning towards 'The Red Shoes' ...

but also scratching my head!
Dorothy's shoes were called slippers - they did have heels but not as high as the ones in the photo. I'd go with The Red Shoes, that's what they are.

Same reasoning, the rope is just a rope, so Rope rather than a fuse in MI. And it has to be Titanic, nobody's ever heard of the Britannic and they're supposed to be well known.
Tom Jones was the big one bugging me and believe Mars attack is a better option on this one

Hard to believe, is the fact that I've seen most of these films. I still need to watch Star Wars - A new hope, keep falling asleep watching this one.

Da Vinci Code was first guest, probably Gladiator.

Now to enter the Competition....hope the best one wins!
morning folks, still mithering about this, but I've now got 40 plausible answers, and time is marching on, so I'll stick this in the post and hope for the best. And here's wishing "may the best man win!"

Cheers for all your help this week, it's been invaluable. Hope you all have a great weekend - if you don't get snowed in!

Chox.
Still struggling to answer them all, would say Man on Wire instead of Tightrope
For Bronzino, I had Mona Lisa for no other reason than there’s a picture of Mona Lisa on the pier leg and there‘s a film called Mona Lisa!! It could equally be Mona Lisa smile!! The clues seem to be very obvious, slightly cryptic or iconic images which can sometimes lead me to over think things! I wouldn’t have said Tom Jones singing in Mars attacks was iconic, was it?
The death star was destroyed in the first Star Wars but there was a half built one in one of the later films as well, can’t remember which!
The red shoes are just that? The Red shoes. Or is that too obvious?

Man on a wire is a great shout from alid!

Good luck everyone.
Red kite - try The Kite Runner. Milk bottle - Milk. Two Stetsons -Brokeback Mountain
The Red Kite is just that. The Red Kite is a 17 minute short film made in 1965.

Has anybody else notice the 22 on the botom of the catch on the black book?
Are you suggesting that Catch 22 is one of the films? I haven't seen or read Harry Potter. Is 22 related to anything in Harry Potter? Also could the stetsons be Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid? The Moon could be several things? My husband suggested The Truman Show because there is an artificial moon that watches over everything?
Could the piece of rope have a link to the film "Clue" based on Cluedo Game?
Hi CHOPCHOP
Catch 22 just relates to the little golden corner of the book, don't think it has anything to do with Harry Potter but the rest of the book does relate to HP I am informed by a neighbour who is a HP fan. Had only got 39 before spotting this reference to Catch 22. Haven't got anything for the moon though, not sure whether it's a red herring or not.
Regards
Thanks to everyone, and lately, jon, jno, and freddie. still not sure with strictly ballroom vs priscilla but going with the first. the eye is definitely avatar by the way, just checked the blu ray cover vs the image - colour, shape, just right. i really liked 'on the waterfront' as a final 'stumper' solved, and i toyed with carousel for the merrygoround on the pier, but neither needed ...jno and jon both have it right, i think about the nature of the clues ...

good luck all!
