Just wondering if anyone else is attempting this quiz? I think I have over 30 answers, which I am happy to share if anyone needs help. Stumped on the feather, big pink knickers, red kite, black tower, bbc microphone (thought The King's Speech but mic probably too modern), milk bottle, carrier bag, two stetsons.
Many thanks

I looked at brighton pier on google images, which made me think the union jack and the helter skelter were just part of the pier. The same approach made me think it's apocalypse now rather than black hawk down. Can't find any images which match the kite. Maybe the red kite is too obscure a film, but the kites shown in the kite runner (tho a good suggestion) aren't wholly red and I would have thought they'd choose a different image for mary poppins. Haven't got all the other answers but I'm struggling to find a 40th clue. Is there something in the rock gift building. Looks like a light or planet with stars. My partner suggested on the waterfront to describe the whole picture.
I thought the man in the alcove was the elephant man. also thought that the baby was the one from raising arizona! probably completely wrong!
Is it just my imagination or is there an eye from an avatar in the rock/gifts building??

What a great spot mars06 - I think you are right!

Am also now assuming that flags are not related to any film titles. I have 39 now. Just that red kite left- not convinced about any of the answers so far. Baby is Million Dollar Baby.
I've now scrubbed my thoughts about "Helter Skelter", I think the whole pier is the image for Brighton Rock, as an archived image shows the whole of the pier with the funfair bit. So that's that sort.

Still mithering about the moon, and also not convinced that the red kite is the Kite Runner because images from that film don't feature a red kite. So if it's not the Kite Runner, I've got 3 left to go. So something else is needed.

Oh yes, ramsfan, that thing in the "rock gift building" is definitely an eye. Has anyone seen that and worked out what it is? Is it a cat's eye?

Any more suggestions would be more than welcome. I am torn between thinking I really wish I hadn't started this, but then on the other hand, I am determined to get all 40 titles.

Hope to speak soon, Chox.
morning again folks. I don't think it's Black Hawk Down, feel that Apocalypse Now is a better option. Hope this is helpful. Again, more than welcome to share titles with folks. Especially for the Red Kite, the Moon and the Rope - and anything else.
Thanks very much mars06 for avatar. It's the kind of thing which jumps out when you know, like a visual illusion. I feel comfortable about Moon. I think it helps to feel certain if you know and like a film, though that could also lead you up the wrong track too.
Still stuck on: Globe with hat. BBC microphone. Stone tablet. Canadian Flag. Funfair
Does anyone think that the moon could be "New Moon" from the Twighlight saga?

Is this quiz in this weeks Radio Times?
Yes alid5 - it's in the current issue - picture quiz and not that easy either!

next week's issue really... could the tightrope walker be Man On Wire?
the globe's a glitterball, the hat with corks is Australian... Strictly Ballroom maybe?
The mirror ball and hat is very easy one! I have that one
What is the BBC microphone??
HI folks, spent most of the day (when I wasn't supposed to be working) thinking abou this - still!

Still stuck on ...

the moon (don't think it can be New Moon from the Twilight series), because it would have been a crescent moon. So perhaps it's "Moon".

Any idea about those eyes you can see through the windows of the kiosk on the pier - maybe the cheshire cat in "Alice"?

And the Red Kite - is this definitely The Kite Runner?

Very happy to share some answers.

The glitterball with the cork hat is "Strictly Ballroom" from Oz, and the microphone is "The Kings Speech".

Hope for some more help,

Chox.
OH! Please...Disco ball = Priscilla Queen of the Desert!
Makes sense.... I hope
