Just wondering if anyone else is attempting this quiz? I think I have over 30 answers, which I am happy to share if anyone needs help. Stumped on the feather, big pink knickers, red kite, black tower, bbc microphone (thought The King's Speech but mic probably too modern), milk bottle, carrier bag, two stetsons.
Many thanks

Is the number on the book definitely 22, to my middle-aged eyes they could be II - which would make it part of the Harry Potter answer - Chamber of Secrets beeing the second book in the series.
Not convinced by either Gladiator or Braveheart for the guy on the wall but will have to plump for gladiator if all else fails. Not convinced about Catch 22 either but I can only find 39 potential answers - had a look with a magnifying glass and difficult to tell if it's 22 or II. Also the Kite runner? there is a film called the Red Kite but it's a bit obscure so not sure what to go for.
Linda48, what you say about clues seems very sensible to me, and i agree about the end of the pier, but can you get to 40 without 'Moon' ...? And it is a rather bright and large moon for daylight ...
Hi Bronzino,

yes I did get 40, without the Moon, but not until I used a magnifying glass and discovered the number 22 on the gold catch. I think all 40 are mentioned here on this site. If you look at GetOverIt's answers just delete the Moon and you get 40.

Good luck to all who enter.
Why have a moon in the daylight sky? I know it happens in real life, but I'm sure its meant as a clue to the film. And it was such a good film, and famous because it was directed by David Bowie's son.

And is a metal corner on a book known as a catch?
Hi Bronzino
Re your question about 40/41. I've done two lists. Based on everyones previous best choices. One with nothing replacing the Bag to keep it at 40. OR dropping the Moon instead of the Bag and making 40 that way. Another alternative combination is to add On the Beach, not The Beach as that was ruled out by RT, for either bag or moon. Yet another possibility is On the Waterfront another iconic movie for the Bag.
Cheers for the compliment!
The difference is an extra postcard or two! No stated restriction is there?
Re idea of Man for All Seasons, he was a priest not a warrior.
Black Hawk v Apocalypse Now. I doubled checked and suggest latter as 'copters for first not same type and the large number more fits title too.
Thanks to linda and quiz_girl. The comment about 'no restrictions' is very helpful! I must say i think the Moon is a clue. Look at it carefully - you can only see the moon that much detail, in daylight anyway, with a binoculars. It also fits with the easy clues 'clockwork orange, black swan, tom jones' etc. I also agree with getoverit - i have middle aged eyes too! I see II not 22. I think On the Waterfront is a nice idea - but the Bag is too glaring for me to ignore; it just happens to be the right colour too.
I am not entering this quiz But I LOVE trying to find the answers. I am sure that the grid/ gate behind the elephant man is something but I am not sure.
The red shoes are very ugly and don't represent the lovely shoes in "the red shoes" or the wizard of oz. But I think it must be "the red shoes". Also the fact that there appears to be two sets of lamps ( one with the blue lamp) and another further down. Is this significant I ask myself. Can't figure out that stone image as have seen Gladiators a few time and that stone image doesnt appear to represent anything related.
I agree I can't see Gladiator at all. There's a big fish on left of man and river and bridge behind!
Still puzzled over the carved man on the wall - Gladiator seems to be the best option however is that a hole in the wall next to 6'6"? There is a film called "The Hole". Any thoughts?
I thought the red kite was the film 'The Red Kite' or is that too simple? I think '2001' for the black monolith, 'Milk' for the milk bottle and 'Brokeback Mountain' for the two stetsons. Not sure about the microphone, the carrier bag or the knickers. I wondered about Bridget Jones or The Railway Children. What's the kid with the money?

surely the microphone has to be The King's Speech? (If not there must be a million filoms with microphones in them.)
I've now read all your answers so ignore my previous posting.

The large plane is a Lancaster (Dambusters) not a Flying Fortress (Memphis Belle). The helicopters are definitely from Apocalypse Now. I'm not sure about Gladiator for the plaque. It looks more mediaeval rather than Roman to me. I think the moon is too prominent in the picture not to be a clue so I'd go with Moon. I think Tightrope is more well known than Man On Wire. The cowboy hats are definitely from Brokeback. Google images for the fi;m and you'll soon see. I think Catch 22 is the clue they expect us to miss. I'm not sure about the red shoes. I'd go with The Red Shoes because they don't look like Dorothy's shoes from Wizard of Oz. I'm undecided between Tom Jones (my first answer) and Mars Attacks. I can't remember the latter well enough to picture Tom Jones in it but unless the picture matches exactly I think the answer has to be Tom Jones.
The flag on the boat is the White Star's pennant. So, definitely Titanic.
Does anyone read the previous posts before continually giving and asking the same question/answer that have been given umpteen times already.

Where has Catch 22 come from? The fang and the diary are from one film. The photo is here- http://harrypotter.wi...i/Tom_Riddle's_diary.

The feather is here -http://www.jonathanrosenbaum.com/?p=6960

The wire walker is here - http://blog.deeperque...uestion-of-imbalance/

The only answer i don't think has been found yet is for the red kite.Could be something to do with the wind (gone with the wind).

Every other film has already been answered in this thread. There is nothing left to find.
Catch 22 needs a magnifying glass, but there does seem to be a 22 written on the catch of the book.
As i expected...Nobody reads the posts . See above.

er, yes, and how does that explain the 22?
It is already part of the image, not added.
