What does this mean? I heard it recently in a millinery shop that I frequently frequent.

Someone says 'show me your hat' in a milliners? Now that is strange. You'll be overhearing someone asking for apples in a greengrocers next.

Nice of you to award yourself three stars, sm.

Hey, I read a fact yesterday that 'Mad as a Hatter' originated from people who used mercury in milliners to shape hats with, the mercury poisoned them and sent them mad! and 'Daft as a Brush' from the people that swept up after the milliners and also got mercury poisoning! Just thought you'd like to know :-)
