My #2 wedding - deffo - I wouldn't like it to happen again but I've love to see a video of every single minute - brilliant day.

Still on first wedding, and like you, it was a wonderful day. It's amazing what you remember 24 years on :D

Did anyone make a video boxy?
No alba, they didn't - it's all still in my head, it gives me a warm glow bringing it all back!
Question Author
I think if you were to renew your vows and have it videod (? sp) it just wouldn't be the same. Memories are a lovely thing to keep and no-one can take them away x
No - it would be different, just as nice no doubt - but what i remember is the feeling in the air, joy and goodwill - it was fabulous!

I remember my late father and I walking to the church and well-wishers watching and smiling. Oh what have I started now.......
It's almost tangible that feeling, don't you think?
I feel abnormal now alba - I cannot pick out one day to repeat over all the others! (Can't wait for boxy to comment on that LOL)
Question Author
To me you are super-normal ttfn x
One 24 hours in 1967, it was overnight. We were sailing across the South China Sea on our way to Borneo. We ran into a force 12 storm. We had a 100 ton raft on the side of the ship, used to take vehicles ashore. We spent the night walking up and down the decks tightening the chains holding the raft in place. It was quite a lively night, one hand to tighten the chains and one hand to hold on! The storm blew out about 5.30AM. We then had time to get our breath back, get into some dry clothes and have some breakfast. Then we went up on deck to witness the most beautiful dawn you can imagine. We were spellbound. All the time flying fish were doing their thing alongside the ship. Wonderful.
The ship was the LSL Sir Galahad.
Question Author
wow wbm! To go through that nightmare.... But a dawn is a wonderful sight to behold. We didn't have that dreadful experience and I must ask OH where we were in the Highlands when we saw a beautiful sunrise.
It was quite a night alba! One Artillery Battery, (us) and a battalion of Gurkhas. Most oh whom were seasick, leaning over the lee side with their belts done up around the top rail. I felt really sorry for them. The crew kept us well supplied with hot drinks and bacon butties throughout the night, we needed the energy!
There were not enough crew to deal with the raft as well as all the other things they had to do, so soldiers with sea going experience were asked to volunteer.
Question Author
you'd go through all that again for a sunrise tho?

Having just typed that, then the answer would be yes I guess x The added bonus of the flying fish too.
You've got it alba! :-}

It was worth it.
Yesterday ... In hindsight, I wouldn't have put the 370,000 TOG quilt on the bed. Now I know how the xmas turkey feels.
Question Author

Naz hindsight has this nasty thing of being 20-20 vision :)
Not in my case, I think I got so hot my eyes melted. :-))
Question Author
