Doctor at St Thomas's Hospital said one lady has died and several others have suffered 'catastrophic injuries'.

OMG how worrying. Only just heard about this on here, I've been out for lunch with a friend.
seems a lot worse than first thought..
Just heard myself on 'talksport' and not reading this thread until now.

Terrible news.
There must have been more than one attacker. A car was crashed and shots were fired separately on Westminster Bridge.
Dreadful. On our doorstep, such an unsafe world we live in. I see no over reaction on this thread, we are observing injured/deceased? Peope and some of the stupidest post ever on AB.
BBC just said 'at least two incidents'.
there was also one witness saying that there was a body in the water - nothing more on that one so far.
Dtc
i heard that as well, no further news on that.
This is all so strange.

I am not usually Know for my emotional side. As tuff as old boots and a pragmatic approach boardering on unmoving. Why get emotional when you just have to carry on and get over it?

Yet, this takes me back to the days of the IRA bombings (perhaps all the talk of McGuiness has affected me more than I like?). I am sitting here wanting to cry. Don't panic not quite there yet lol.

Why is that?

Why has this affected me more than any atrocity before it?
it brought all the 7/7 bombings back, i didn't cry then, however i wasn't far, round the corner from the No 30 bus that was blown up.
we all get emotional when we least expect it.
Heard 1 dead and 4 injured, but this may be out of date by now.

2 confirmed dead now (Sky)
Perhaps, cassa333, it's the relentlessness of the coverage of this and every other incident that threatens to swamp us all.
Doesn't this put all the talk of the IRA attacks into perspective? This was the sort of incident that became commonplace and anyone who thinks MM was a 'man of peace' perhaps ought to be rethinking their opinion now.
Very sad, I used to work opposite here and whenever there was an incident or suspected incident we were on lockdown.
So sorry for those that have lost their lives, thinking of my colleagues that are still working there and are still on lockdown hope they get home soon and safe.
Thank goodness the sick jokes seem to have abated on this thread.
DTC, they've just confirmed that a woman was pulled alive from the river.

^^^ and is being treated on one of the Piers for very serious injuries
