AOG - ////Also the fact that in the past I described a vicious female criminal as a *** and was openly criticised by one of the Eds for using that word, yet it has been used today and nothing has been said. //

Not openly criticised this time but censored by three stars, what better proof than that? //

You can surely see that there is no point banging on about Editorial Policy to people who have nothing to do with it!

//Also note this childish remark from ummmm

/// Because you're a cry baby, AOG. ///

Personal abusive but to date, not removed. //

Actually - it appears it has - but of course you have repeated it, which rather negates its removal!!!
Can I have my ball back!
AOG - ///// That sounds like a simple generic description, based on observation, before knowing the facts of their respective ages. ///

Why didn't you question Gromit when he stated they were 14 year old girls?

Double standards once again. //

If I said something like "I don't need the likes of you to tell me whom and whom not to question on here!"

Would that sound familiar?
What a tedious thread!
14 year old girl has been arrested, not sure if that has been mentioned or not.

// 14 year olds do not travel for free on London buses. //

I do not live in London, but I did check that before posting.

// Children aged over 10 years and 11 months and under 16 on 31 August can get an 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard to travel free on buses and trams, and child rate on Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services in London. If your child is now 16 but was still aged 15 on 31 August then they are still eligible for an 11-15 Zip Oyster photocard. //

And we're back in the room ....
That's correct, gromit, and if the girls had and presented the oyster cards (which have their photos on) the driver wouldn't have questioned it.

Trees and bushes?

Oh now we are getting a little nearer the truth.

So it is simply a personal thing, only available to those who disagree with the great AH?

I simply replied to you in the tone and language that you have often used to me - but I did put in in inverted commas to distance myself from it, because it is not the way I speak to people.

If it offended you, then perhaps you should consider the way you address others - since you do not like to see yourself as others see you.
divebuddy - //I see thousands of back slash trees and quotation mark bushes have been destroyed in the pursuit of absolutely nothing (again). I can't help wondering whether one or two people have got serious problems. //

I think it's rather more that one or two people enjoy the cut and thrust of debate and are keen to ensure that they get their point over - no problems here.
Randy - I believe that fact was mentioned on Monday @ 13.58.

Not all others, only the likes of you.

Oh dear there I go again using such inflammatory language.

Since long ago you gave me the honour of having the last word, but then not keeping your word (now there's a surprise,) I will prove myself better at my word than you appear to be, by allowing you the last word.

Feel free.

divebuddy - //Andy. Tiresome, doesn't begin to describe it. //

One man's 'tiresome' is another man's exchange of views.

Don't let me keep you ....
Newcomers to Answerbank are likely to run a mile when they see the pettiness on this thread.
AOG. Your claim that you have been treated unfairly by my use of the word *** smacks of "It's not fair! ...I'm telling the teacher on you!" I also suspect you're using it as a distraction from the fact that your views (once again) are being thrashed hollow by people far more a) erudite and b) emotionally rational than your good self, I don't necessarily include myself in those two descriptions.
...and before you accuse me of calling you a thickie, I'm not - I just think that you don't actually know the limits of your powers of reasoning and are too proud to ever admit when you've got something wrong.
Pete, it's not "petty", there are serious issues being discussed and a few jibes and hot-headed replies are a natural part of a debating process.
Besides that, the beloved AOG has long been considered a 'valuable contributor' to AB by my understanding because he starts healthy debates.
